Any 2009 championship year league currently in the process of registering or registering in the future will now use the 2008 Year End Ratings. If a player is already registered with their August ESL rating or self rating on a roster, they are able to continue playing on that roster, unless they get disqualified.

2008 Year-End Rating Legend

“C” Computer Year-End Rating
• Player can appeal their rating
• Player cannot be disqualified, nor can they have a grievance filed against their rating

“B” Benchmark Rating
• Player who played in a local, state, sectional or national adult and/or senior state championship
• A benchmarked player cannot appeal their rating up or down, unless he or she only played in a local playoff
• Benchmarked players cannot be disqualified
• All players who are disqualified during the season become benchmarks (B) and cannot appeal.

“A” Player with a “C” who has appealed their year-end rating
• This player is subject to a computer generated DQ but with no match reversal
• A grievance cannot be filed against them

“M” Mixed Doubles Year-End Rating
• Player can appeal their year-end rating
• They will start the year with a 0.0 start rate
• They are subject to computer DQ (all matches reversed), and are subject to a grievance being filed against their rating

“T” Tournament Year-End Rating
• Players in the USTA Southern section should not see tournament ratings unless they are a player who has generated their rating in a section that uses tournament data
• Treated the same as a Mixed Year-End Rating

“S” Self-Rated player
• They will start the year with a 0.0 start rate
• They are subject to computer DQ (all matches reversed), and subject to a grievance being filed against their rating
